Ballet Tech Cincinnati, one of Kennedy Height's premiere arts organizations were honored with the 2008 Scripps-Corbett award for innovation at a recent ceremony at the Cincinnati Art Museum.
The non-profit organization was singled out for providing diverse and innovative performances with dance programs that feature classical repertoire, contemporary works, and folk and ethnic dancers. Focusing on their core value of diversity, ballet tech Cincinnati's casts include dancers of every skill level, age and ethnicity. The program "Leaping for Literacy", a series of dialogue reading workshops, held in partnership with Success by Six demonstrated ballet tech's ability to master community outreach with young children.

The Scripps-Corbett awards, formerly known as the Post-Corbett Awards, are in their 33rd year. Named for long time Cincinnati arts patrons Patricia and J. Ralph Corbett and the E.W. Scripps Company, the awards program has been encouraging support for the local arts community and as an incentive to maintain a vibrant and sustainable arts community.
Ballet Tech Cincinnati was formed in 1997, and moved to Kennedy Heights last year. The group has been enhancing the community with numerous events and performances in addition to a regular menu of dance classes for all ages.
