Cincinnati, OH— ballet tech cincinnati will celebrate its new World Headquarters and Community Theater at 6543 Montgomery Road in Kennedy Heights with the 2nd Annual All Star Jazz Concert, Jazz for Lease, on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 7PM. Featuring the ballet tech cincinnati Jazz Jam House Band, Hank Stephens Experience and Jazz Greats Alfred Beasley, Eddie Brookshire, LaVieena Campbell, N. Michael Goecke, Eugene Goss, Thelma Massey, William Menefield, Benita Price, Willie Smart, Erwin Stuckey, Ben Sweeney, Mike Wade, Ryan Wells and others, Jazz for Lease will be a fundraising benefit for ballet tech cincinnati to support its Raising the Barre Capital Campaign. There will be more fun with a Silent Auction, Balloon Pops, cash bar and delicious hors d’oeuvres.
ballet tech cincinnati moved into the former Mr. Kelley’s on Montgomery Road in Kennedy Heights a year ago, revitalizing a landmark building that had been vacant for over thirteen years. Currently, the facility offers dance classes, provides rehearsal space for the Dance Company and a performance and private event venue for dance, theater, music and other community organizations. The Raising the Barre Capital Campaign will fund improvements to create dance studios, dressing rooms, community space, offices and a convertible Community Theater and Public/Private Event Venue. Since the move to its new headquarters, ballet tech cincinnati has been recognized for its artistic excellence, innovation, diversity and community outreach with the Scripps-Corbett Award and for its operational excellence and continuous quality improvement as a ONE Award Finalist.
Jazz for Lease All Star Jazz concert will be a multi-generational assembly of great musicians from our region. They will come together to play the jazz classics, new smooth jazz and some of their original compositions. Young jazz pros Guitarist Ben Sweeney, Trombonist, N. Michael Goecke and Saxophone player Ryan Wells will be joined by Jazz Legends from our region. Eugene Goss “elevates music back to the future of the best of the 1960s and ’70s when a rapturous love song sang in Soul language headed off the despair and anxieties of war, civil and otherwise.” (Kathy Wilson, CityBeat-Best of Cincinnati 2005) Lavieena Campbell, an extraordinary vocalist, has captivated Cincinnati audiences for over two decades. Her crowd-pleasing performances have netted her the designation of “Songbird.” Thelma Massey and Hank Stephens Experience have performed in and around Cincinnati and trumpeter Mike Wade is well known throughout the region as a soloist and leader of Mike Wade & the Ambassadors.
